"Advantages are it’s located right at the bus station, very helpful and courteous owner. Can rent motorbikes and descent breakfast included. Disadvantages are the wifi was horrible and no common area to hang out at. Only hostel in the area so I would recommend it. "

"Rooms are not designed well. Especially the bathrooms. Shower head is placed at the door. Tub was under construction. Sink was behind the door. No thinking involved in planning the layout. Hot drinks at breakfast labeled only in burmese. Breakfast marginal. Spa adequate but no English spoken so hard to communicate needs. "

"Loved it , they hire Scooters which is unreal . they have a small restaurant which had a a few good options , the staff where amazing . Its a about a 15 minute walk to the railway station and a 15 minute walk through some little ally ways to some awesome Pagodas that have great views . I will definitely return to Mawlamyine again and stay here ."

"We stay in Royal Hintar every year when we go to Mawlamyine. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and provide all the amenities you need. The breakfast buffet is great with big variety of items to choose from. We only had good experiences in this hotel."

"The rooms were incredibly so small & narrow. The shared toilet and shower rooms were OK & Clean. The building looks good from outside & seems to be from those colonial times. With proper restoration & management, in the future, this guest house could be better than this especially when the location is just opposite of River View. The management style is clearly from those olden times ( 1970-1990 Tourist Burma Age) all paper-based. This guest house deserves to be upgraded as mini-hotel...
