This was great hotel for our first visit to Marseille. It was centrally located. It’s close to great neighborhoods (Panier, Vieux Port, Noallies, and Cours Julien) — all are within walking distance. The staff were nice (the man working the front gave us a good a good restaurant recommendation). The room was spacious and clean. The building was quiet which allowed us a good night sleep after a long day exploring the city and its amazing history and street art. I would highly recommend this hotel for a first visit to Marseille.

Great Mercure hotel, room was large enough for our 3 night stay. Staff super friendly and helpful. You can walk to all the restaurants at the port and Galleries Layfette and shopping centre attached to hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location and amazing comfort

In the city centre, less than 10 min walking to the Vieux Port. Extremely comfortable bed, nice shower with Nuxe shower gel, decent room size. Breakfast was also very good, with delicious local cheeses and lots of options. Will definitely stay here again when in Marseille.

Excellent Hotel

Great hotel, spacious room, and very comfortable. The staff were always helpful. The location is excellent. My only complaint is that the towels were small and quite threadbare. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Good location and walkable to the old port. Great helpful staff. Value for money is good, not a 5-star hotel but very good for the money you pay. There’s a safe and convenient parking for €20 if you have a car.

We found the location near the old port very convenient for visiting the old port area and selection of restaurants, all within walking distance. Check in staff were very helpful. The parking location and way back was a bit challenging even with good instructions from staff (at night and with new rental car) however was very safe and secure. Room was fine except that we found the paper glasses provided were a bit of a letdown.

Unfortunately, my stay here was quite disappointing. Both the room and the communal areas were infested with mosquitoes and other insects. The room felt as though it was falling apart — cracks and stains on the walls, worn-out carpets, and an overall shabby appearance that resembled a cheap motel more than a hotel. The surrounding area offered very limited dining options, and many of the nearby cafes were frequented exclusively by men, which made it uncomfortable to enter, let alone sit and eat. On the positive side, the staff were polite and the bed was quite comfortable. The hotel is also within a short walk of the old port and the nicer parts of Marseille.
