The 10th Arrondissement of Marseille is composed of several charming districts offering an intriguing alternative to the city center. This green suburb has a range of fun and sporty activities for the whole family.
Go ice skating at the Palais Omnisports Marseille Grand-Est, where you can watch an ice hockey game. It also has a skate park and go-karting on the ice.
Enjoy a picnic beside a gorgeous lake and stroll along the canal in 26th Centenary Park (Parc du 26e Centenaire), at the western edge of the district. Take some photos of the park’s many fountains and enjoy a break in the tea room. Venture a bit further west to find the 67,000-seat Orange Vélodrome, home to soccer team Olympique de Marseille.
To the north of the district is the Hippodrome de Pont de Vivaux, where you can bet on a race or learn to ride horses.
The quarter makes up a large part of the southeastern surroundings of Marseille. Drive here from the city center in about 25 minutes or take a combination of the metro and bus to arrive by public transportation. While you’re in the area, check out the adjacent zones of Sainte-Marguerite, the 5th Arrondissement and the 11th Arrondissement.
If you’re staying on this side of Marseille consider taking the kids to the OK Corral amusement park, approximately a 30-to-40-minute drive east of the 10th Arrondissement. Join them on the themed roller coasters, the flying machines and the galloping horse. Watch a live show with your family and take the little ones on the tamer rides.
The 10th Arrondissement is all about family fun, from soccer to go-karting on ice, to horse races.
