"We stayed in an ocean view room and the view was beautiful. Nice breeze. Location is high up with steep slopes, not feasible for older and those with bad backs. "I had torn my achilles tendon just before my stay here so accessibility was an issue to some degree. No rooms had ramps or had ground floor accessibility. Other than that, the staff were great, breakfast was fantastic. Lunch was meh, dinner was really nice at the stone restaurant. My family had rented a car so we were a short 20 min drive into old town Chania which was gorgeous. "

"Very helpful and friendly staff, and had own private beach as well as own parking lot, having a car was very helpful to get around as it was at least an hour away from tourist beaches which are a must see! The hotel strip had over a hundred restaurants to choose from. "

"The breakfast buffet definitely poor for a 5 star hotel, I was expecting fresh juices, only had pork, same 3 fruit options everyday and dry pastries. "We had such a lovely stay here. One of the cleanest hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in, it was spotless! Nice pool area with a bar on one side and a restaurant on the other side. Nice friendly staff. Restaurants and cafes within walking distance and a supermarkets nearby. We would definitely stay here again."

"Hotel is new and in great condition. Spacious room, large bathroom, great balcony only a few meters from the crushing waves. Wonderful restaurant right on top of the waves. Two beautiful pools, one of them overlooking the sea and only a few meters away from it. Great beach right in front of the hotel, ultra long beach to walk either way. Only downside is the breakfast ; although it gives the basics that you expect, it does not offer any local delicacies. "

"Overall we enjoyed our stay at Portou House. Our room was on the top floor. There was some hanging space but not a lot of storage other than one drawer. The bed was really comfortable and toiletries and a hairdryer were peovided. The room would benefit from soundproofing as there was a bit of noise from a nearby restaurant, however this did not spoil our stay. The rooms are in a great location. We would definitely return. "
