"I would rate The Velo Resort higher, but my one night stay and sleep was interrupted all night by the room next door playing very loud thumping music and loud talking, virtually all night and into the morning when i checked out at 930AM. "We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous resort. The gardens and ponds are very pretty and they attract a huge variety of birds. We didn’t see the pair of hornbills that frequent the area, but we did see many other species of birds. The hosts are lovely. We are cyclists and my husband was dehydrated and feeling ill. Our host told me to call her even at night if he worsened. It was a great comfort. "

"Peaceful, in nature, the property was perfect for me. The family was welcoming and helpful, the home cooked meals excellent, flavourful and great value...I loved the coffee too! My bungalow was spacious and had everything I needed..( electrical outlets, lights, ceiling fan and even WiFi! Simple life at its best."

"It's advertised as a Hotel but it's a resort. Lots of outside small cabins. Yes, you can park right next to your unit, that's a plus. It should have been 300 THB cheaper. Had I know it was a resort I would not have booked it. I would like a discount Expedia"

"Arrived to find they had no booking for our 3 rooms so first night had to stay elsewhere. One room smelt of sewage. No breakfast supplied but our booking clearly says it was to be provided. Reception speak no English. Not sure why Expedia have this place available?"

"Poipet itself is terrible. Holiday Palace is a great respite and is on par with a good Western casino in terms of cleanliness and service. "

"A nice inexpensive hotel. The room was clean and orderly. The hotel itself is located right at major intersection with highway 6, which makes it convenient to get in and out of town. The Phnom Svay Restaurant is around the corner serving good reasonable food, and Phnom Svay itself is close by for a walk around and explore session. A few short blocks to the southeast is the major central market area which has anything you’d need. Good place for a short stay, definitely."

"Very clean and new mini bungalows. Quite a trek into town. 15 minutes walk to the train station. 10 min to the bus terminal. Very quiet and kind lady owner. 3 friendly healthy dogs. You would want to understand the way to befriend dogs. No transport or songthaews on that road so you either walk everywhere or try to flag down an orange vest motorcycle taxi. Suggest the owner get a couple cheap pushbikes to rent to backpackers. Google maps shows AP on the right of the hi way but it's actually on...
