"Lux* South Ari is a great choice for a vacation in the Maldives. The island is beautiful, great facilities, excellent service. I’d definitely recommend the all inclusive option (def worth the money and offers many options). They offer many activities and the spa is fantastic. The Lux Cafe is also a great touch. I’ve tried both the beach villas and the over water villas and you def can’t go wrong with either. "
"Constance Hotel has a rustic feel n a very relaxing atmosphere. We saw many types fishes, ray n squids from above or during snorkeling . Food variety is good, service staff always wanting to please . A highly recommended resort hotel ! "
"Absolutely amazing trip from start to end. The water bungalow was incredibly spacious and well equipped. The all inclusive was excellent value for money and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming and provided an amazing service. Thank you so much for an amazing time. We didn’t want to leave."
Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa Maldives, The Centara Collection
10/10 Excellent
"Our holiday was nothing short of amazing! The rooms were comfortable, with AC and a mini fridge replenished daily. Housekeeping was impeccable, and stepping outside led directly to the beach. Safety was a priority, with life jackets for the whole family.
Snorkelling, paddleboarding, and kayaking were available at the Best Dive kiosk, with helpful and knowledgeable staff. We took a sunset boat tour and saw hundreds of dolphins—truly unforgettable! Joe and Alex made scuba diving an excellent experience, guiding my husband step by step.
Beyond the sea and infinity pool, there was plenty to do: a well-equipped gym, tennis court, and a games room with pool, darts, ping pong, PlayStation, and air hockey. The spa was the perfect place to unwind—Pin’s full-body massage was bliss! The island shop stocked essentials like sunglasses and sunscreen.
To keep mosquitoes at bay, the island was sprayed daily, though bringing insect repellent is wise. Dining was spectacular, with three restaurants: The Reef (buffet), Mare Azzurro (Italian, booking needed), and Suan Buan (Thai, booking needed). The staff were outstanding—Kal ensured my son got his burger, and May, June, Vivek, Sunny, and Habib provided top-notch service.
Refreshing drinks by the pool added to the experience—Siva and Ajith made dreamy caipirinhas and perfect milkshakes! The kids' club was a hit, with creative and sporty activities led by Yummi and Naba. Our time here was unforgettable, and we can't wait to return!"
"The only reason I did not give an overall excellent for this property is the food. Breakfast and lunch were excellent but sometimes the dinners were less than great. There was no choice only what was cooked on the night. Also it could be because as a westerner I am used to only the best boneless cuts of meat, but on occasion the meat was inedible due to bones and gristle. A shame because the flavours were very good and the staff were excellent. For future reference a description of the food would be useful. If I was to return to this venue I would probably only eat vegetarian. The island itself was quite small (not a criticism) and easy to walk around, the people were quite friendly. Overall I would say this property fit in the backpackers / divers niche. As I was not looking for the usual Maldives experience this was an advantage for me. The only issue as far as the accommodation was concerned is that my bed linens did not appear to be changed the whole 2 weeks I was there, but I could be mistaken if the sheets were washed then put back on the same day. The private beach at the property was wonderful and very private - I had it all to myself for my whole visit. Didn’t worry me that I had to be covered from neck to knee for religious reasons but would not recommend swimming in your beach cover up. The public beach at the other end of the island (10 / 15 minutes walk) did not look all that well kept so I only went for a look once and then stayed on my private beach."
"Heaven on earth. Staff very friendly, professional and caring. Management and front desk very helpful and informative. Food very good -reasonable choice on the daily basis, even for picky eaters . Pure tranquility and proper retreat, away from hassle of modern life. Rustic style, authentic, elegant and beautiful. Amazing house reefs, even for not great swimmers, breathtaking lagoon .pure retreat .great for anyone who is searching for peace , while surrounded by nature. Most definitely highly recommend. "
