I was in Madrid for a couple of days of sight seeing. Stayed at the Funway mostly through price and being close-ish to Chamartín station. Very good stay. Given that it is student accommodation, does feel a little different to many hotels, but the room had everything you might expect. Safe, sofa, en suite shower room/toilet (shower quite tight), loads of storage, and a bed that comes down from the ceiling when needed covering the central part of the room. No AC in the room, but it stayed an okay temperature even despite that and +30C outside. Little pool and gym available + some other social spaces. Easy walking distance to the metro and some shops.

This is an adult only & single occupancy accommodations. High security, felt very safe, I did not find any way to control room temperature & I was given a street level window partial basement room. I went back to desk & requested a room on a higher floor as I needed to be able to sleep with window open for fresh air. They complied with request. There are no telephones in the room, if you need wakeup call they come and knock on the door which did not wake me. They also called a taxi for me who was gracious to wait for me. Quick 15min ride to airport.

The rooms were very basic and compact - as expected for Student accommodation - but perfect for anyone who is just using the hotel to sleep. The rooms, and hotel in general, use Geothermal to regulate the temperature, so there isn't individual Air Conditioning units, so anyone who likes to sleep in a very cold room wouldn't be able to. The beds are lowered from the ceiling at night, but raised during the day to allow access to a table and 2-seater sofa. The bathroom, again, is compact space with shower, but is more than adequate, though the provided toiletries are small sachets, enough for one, maybe two showers The staff were very helpful, and happily provided towels for the swimming pool, as well as paddles/balls for the table tennis table One downside was that there wasn't a fridge in the room, but the floor was cold enough to cool bottles of water. It wouldn't be possible to keep anything that has to be chilled though The area around the hotel was mainly residential, so had small local shops and restaurants, though larger shops and restaurants were within 10-15minutes walk. There was a Metro station within 5minutes walk with a direct line to the city centre as well as a large shopping mall in the opposite direction All in all, we were very happy with the hotel, and would definitely use again
