A holiday in Carabanchel is perfect if you’d like to explore Madrid and enjoy a range of tourist attractions.

Carabanchel is the most populated district in the city of Madrid. Located in the south of the city, it borders on the famous River Manzanares to the north. Read on and find out everything you need to know about our cheap trips to Carabanchel!

On either side of the River Manzanares you’ll find the Madrid Río Park, which covers nearly 300 acres. One of the most interesting facts about this space is that it lies over the underground M-30 motorway. What better way to integrate nature into the city? It is the ideal place for a walk or bike ride, enjoying a drink or just simply relaxing.

There you’ll also see the Toledo bridge, construction of which began in 1718. This granite structure crosses the river, and boasts a beautiful baroque style. You’ll definitely want to snap some shots for your photo album!

The Palacio Vistalegre is also nearby, a multi-purpose building used for a wide variety of events. It has shopping areas and a venue for up to 14,000 people for concerts, basketball matches, conferences and more. We recommend you check the venue’s schedule in advance to see if there’s anything on you’d like to enjoy when you come on our package deals to Carabanchel.

The San Isidro cemetery, on the other hand, is perfect if you fancy a haven of peace in the city with a long history and some beautiful fountains. A range of guided tours are available that will let you explore the tombs of such famous personalities as Leandro Fernández de Moratín, one of the most important Spanish playwrights of the 18th century.

Nor will you want to miss out on Colonia de la Prensa, one of Madrid’s most unique Modernista sites. Built in the beginning of the 20th century, to this day it conserves its majestic entrance on Calle Eugenia de Montijo along with many of its period villas.
