"The pool was cold and sauna wasnt working. These were two of the main reasons we booked the stay. I rang before booking to ensure a pet friendly property was available and no one mentioned this. The accomodation was very basic with a really hard bed in the master. The kettle leaked from the base, there was broken glass underneath my son’s bed and one of the seats of the sofa was collapsed. "Had a lovely stay in the Owl's Roost. The hosts were so kind and couldn't have been more helpful. It was so peaceful being surrounded by fields. The cabin was very clean and beautifully decorated, and the bed was comfy! The hosts even offered to provided a telescope to use for the clear nights, which was a very nice touch (we did bring our own) We will be returning again in the future."

"Nice apartment, ideal positioning, Illfracombe is very steep, but lovely walks to be had. Car parking is free after 6pm in the town also. We didn’t use the facilities but pool looked a decent size. Cushions on the bed were very hard. Could maybe do with a couple of soft ones in the wardrobe as a just incase. Lovely place overall. "

"It was a lovely self- contained property for one or two people. I think it would feel crowded for any more. The hosts even bought a new TV when i couldn't watch the Olympics on the old one. The games room was great but if I hadn't known the people in the cottage next door, I don't know how i would have gained access. It was a lovely peaceful stay with everything I needed and very kind, helpful hosts. "

"For the price this place is excellent. You are paying the price of a hostel but you have your own room, a decent bathroom and tea making facilities. The hotel has seen better days, and if you want something swanky pay another £100 per night. Staff were helpful, room was clean, and location is spot on. "
