Good Clean Hotel.. beds ok.. pillows hard.. Unfortunately the Staff from checkin, bar area at night.. just Average.. Not sure they are happy with their jobs.. bathrooms need to be better accessible as you have to climb into a tub to shower.. door gets in way too.. anyway still Clean and quiet..

Experience was much lower than expected for this price point. You feel that they are trying to cut costs on every possible thing and squeeze every last penny out of the client. Positives: Staff very polite and helpful Rooms are of adequate size Easy access from garage to the rooms Negatives: Very bad value for money. Breakfast very poor lacks variety and there were flies flying around the juice area which is just unacceptable. The garage is super hard to get into and out, entrance and exit are from the same ramp they have traffic lights inside the garage (a first for me) to avoid cars coming face to face with each other and if you a driving a large vehicle like mine the parking spaces are impossible to fit into. Rooms are old and run down with no views mine was overlooking an air conditioning unit.

Inconvenient for lisbon, hotel staff felt like they were being disturbed from whatever they were doing(which in no way looked like dealing with any customers) when trying to get water or cappuccino: it was like no one could help/everything was always closed. We stayed at other hotels in portugal and this stay was BY FAR the worst

Mercure is located in a good location near to Sete-Rio railway station, however the area is quite quiet and the surround area at the railway station is quite dirty as compared to other areas.

Very average room for the price. I stayed here for 5 nights and The first room I stayed at has a sewage smell in the bathroom which is not nice. I changed to another room on 3rd night since the receptionist said someone would go fix the smell on 2nd day but it turned out it didn't happen. I was assigned rooms at the end of the corridor both times so the room is a bit weird in its shape and I think they may be smaller than normal rooms. The card slot is not by the entrance and once the door is closed it was pitch dark in the room and very hard to get the card into the slot for electricity ....... There isn't any sockets by the bedside so it's really not user friendly especially given it's a business hotel. Lighting of the room is a bit strange - white light so it's a little eerie for me as I would assume hotel rooms should have warm/yellow lighting for ambiance and comfort. The water temperature in the shower in my 2nd room was bad, if I get warm water there wouldn't be much water pressure. Only when the water is scalding the water pressure is normal. Also I have a big suitcase and if I place it opened on the suitcase rest which is behind the door, the door couldn't be opened completely or I would crush the corner of my suitcase easily if I wasn't cautious when opening the door. Location is great, a few minute walk from metro, train and coach station as well as a supermarket. 20 min metro ride to the old town. Pool is not bad, shower facility is minimal.
