With its lake and tree-lined lawns, Levante Park is a green artery running across the southern side of Cesenatico. This family-friendly setting contains several playgrounds and some sports equipment among other amenities and activities. Bring your kids to check out the swans and hens congregating near the water.
Cycle along the bike paths that crisscross through the leafy grounds. Plenty of scenic walking routes meander around this 100-acre (40-hectare) park. Stop to enjoy a picnic on a grassy patch, where you can also sunbathe in summer. Providing shaded relief from the hot afternoon sun is a range of trees, which include pines, poplars, alders and oaks. Bring along a pair of binoculars and gaze up at the intriguing birds hovering above the woodland.
Play with the pups in the park’s dog section and sign up for one of the activities, which include yoga and tai chi. Use the training area to get fit or join sports games. In the center of the park is a farmhouse called the Elderly Center, where many cultural and physical events are organized.
Hike along the perimeter of the vast lake and take photos of the impressive scenery. Ducks, water hens and other aquatic creatures will appreciate any morsels of food you want to share. Go for a dip in the Piscina Cesenatico indoor swimming pool in the northwestern corner of the park.
Order food and drinks at the café that opens daily except Mondays and Wednesdays in summer. Dancing is popular here on weekend evenings.
Find Levante Park in the Valverde district in the southern outskirts of Cesenatico. Several bus stops line the eastern border of the park. Consider driving and leaving your car in the Piazzale Donatori degli Organi parking lot. Go to some of the surrounding sights, such as the Diamanti Beach Village water park, the Santa Claus Village and the Atlantica Bingo complex.
