Once you walk out of the side street, you can find all the shops for almost anything you need - food, clothes, bar, pharmacy etc. The Le Marais area is really one of the nicer neighbourhood in Paris. It was pretty quiet with some road noise in the morning, however this didn't bother us particularly as we tend to be up early.
