"Lovely hotel with a very relaxing vibe. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We ate in all the hotel restaurants and every meal was delicious. Pam’s restaurant at the end of the road was also good. "

"All the staff were very helpful and friendly, peaceful by the beach and plenty of sun loungers available. Activities offered too, I did the yoga which was very enjoyable. Food was an interesting ensemble at the Christmas party but what I had was good. I was in one of the beach houses which had probably seen better days but still nice and clean, I'd definitely stay again. "

"We had a nice very stay and enjoyed many of the various entertainment and sports program options including yoga at the beach pavilion. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is very friendly. The location is great and the beach beautiful. We had the full board option. The hotel provided a good choice of various delicious food including healthy options. "

"We had an acceptable pool villa with beach access for which we had paid handsomely however I’d have been horrified to be in the huge block rooms. The resort is jaded and unloved. The dining room is scruffy and a total covid hazard. Tabl s have dirty mats and uneven surfaces. This is the first hotel where I saw guests actually bringing in their own breakfast ( as opposed to taking fruit etc out) it c a n only be described as basic and pedestrian with poor choice and little attention to top up...

"A couple of things did go wrong during our stay (forgot to clean our room a couple of times; double booked our NYE reservation); but the staff were quick to react and resolve. Great location and facilities. "

"Khao Lak is stunning, very relaxing coastal town. This resort is nice but nothing to write home about. The rooms and facilities are aging and the food is pretty average at the on-site restaurants. The staff are wonderful though, and it’s a nice slow paced relaxing resort."

"This resort is the older style bungalow type. Yes, it’s a little dated, but is well kept and exactly what I wanted. Traditional Thai beach bungalows at a good price. Sheets were great, pool and grounds well kept by lots of staff. A great breakfast and lovely beach."

"Great place to stay, in a little hub by the beach. The staff were so friendly and helpful and so welcoming. The room was well set out with a comfy bed and spacious area with a kitchen setup and a couch/kitchenette (microwave dinnerware) Thoroughly enjoyed staying here!"

"Excellent experience all together. Very good food, rooms and facilities. Specialy the grill sea food platters from beach terrace. Great beach around the place, good to swim, canoe, paddle boading. Staff was good with good attention. "

"It was our wedding anniversary and The Sands specially decorated the bed and provided a sponge cake to help us celebrate. We stayed in a ground floor room with direct pool access and it was great for our two young boys. They were 3 other pools as well with the kids pool being a favourite. The resort has direct beach access and is an easy walk to the main stretch of Khao Lak with great dining options and local shopping. Breakfast had a wide selection which easily catered for our varied tastes. The staff were amazing and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We enjoyed an amazing sunset on Christmas day and wished we could have stay longer. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather which was a bonus."
