"We had a pleasant two night stay at Auberge des Grands Bois. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. It could have benefited from air conditioning but there was a Dyson Air Fan available and fortunately the weather was not too warm. The staff were friendly and breakfast was delivered to the room. "I chose this IBIS hotel based on air conditioned rooms (not easy to find in Thonon), distance from family members who live in the area and consistency with room/hotel amenities. The room was clean, minimally equipped as per expected (no tea kettle/coffee maker, fridge, etc.). The bed was reasonably comfortable (not hard as a rock) which is not always easy to find in Europe based on American standards however biased. "The hotel has lovely clean rooms, good sizes. Very well situated near the station and town. The staff are well informed and helpful. There is a good choice of breakfast. As my husband has mobility problems, a handle higher on the shower wall would have been helpful, but that is the only small snag. "

Great stay

"Check-in was brilliant, we arrived late morning and asked to drop our bags off so we could explore the city but the very kind gentleman, David, told us there was a room ready and we could check in early (for no extra fee). As a first timer in Geneva he got us a map and told us the best places to go and how to get there and if public transport was needed which was the best to get. There was a deposit taken of just over 100CHF but this was refunded promptly after check-out. The hotel is right next to the main station, and a 7 minute walk from Lake Geneva. The room was a good size with nice large windows. The TV had multiple channels from multiple countries around the world. "

"The hotel was clean, had parking, a restaurant and a gym. The suite was big and had a sofa. We were able to walk from the airport to the hotel in about 15 minutes after our trip to the city of Geneva from taking the train at the airport. Free shuttle van to the airport every 10 minutes in the very early morning and every 20 minutes after 5:30am. After returning our car early we took the van to the airport the following morning. Many restaurants around the area, but a bit dark and sketchy at night. I would stay again because the room was nice and big, the hotel was clean and very convenient to get to the airport."

"Excellent hotel, located not far from the lake and just minutes away from the train station. Spacious, calm, comfortable room with all the amenities. Access to the wonderful spa and fitness room. Delicious breakfast buffet with efficient, gracious staff ! Highly recommended if your budget allows."
