"Travelled from Canada solo. Age 45. Mad Monkey was fantastic. Chill upbeat vibes during the day. From around 6:30pm-11:30pm was fun party vibes. Quiet times from Midnight to Noon"ish". Easy 5 min walk to patong beach and 10 min walk to crazy Bangla road nightlife. Anything you could want or need is everywhere around you at all times. Very social atmosphere with awesome staff. "It was a decent stay but I wasn't a fan of the cleanliness of the place. Inside my cubby wasn't the cleanest as there was some stuff on the walls and it made me feel grossed out and the moldy wet smell wasn't my favorite either. Also, the beds were hard and not all that comfy. Other than that it was in a very convenient area and liked that I was able to quickly get some food or do laundry without hastle."

"Overall would recommend. Beds were comfy and aircon was good if you cranked it. Nice private bunks. Bathrooms were a little grimey, but manageable. Pretty big language barrier with staff, were not helpful with travel plans. They were very sweet and wanted to help but have limited English. Right night to 7-11 and a manageable walk to the beach. Pretty quiet at night too!"

"Great location Basic essentials Value for money. Only disappointing part was check inn. I know a lot of places have a 2pm check in, but they have to be realistic when you arrive at 1.15 and they take 10 min for paperwork and then say you have to wait till 2pm, when clearly the room is ready. I just can not see there logic other than to put a miserable start to your stay."

Music was loud but that is expected with it being a party hostel, and music is turned down every night at 1 anyways. Overall a very pleasant stay!"

"My husband and I had an amazing time at SAMSAM. The staffs that SAMSAM is super friendly and super responsive. The food by SAMSAM is absolutely delicious! The resort is located in a great area, and near by is walkable beach and local cafe and restaurants! The resort also offers bike rentals and scooter rental for fee which allowed us to explore the island! I would highly recommend SAMSAM :) "
