"This was a great choice for a home base in Kiruna. Although this side of town is being phased out, there is a grocery store and excellent Thai restaurant a short walk away. "Abisko Turiststation STF is a great place to stay. It's located close to the train station and offers a variety of rooms from hotel, to hostel, to cabins. We stayed in one of the cabins and it was perfect for us. The one item I will note is that you need to ethier bring your own sheets/sleeping bag or you can rent linnens from the hotel (much like a hostel). I am glad I reached out to them before we arrived so they could inform me of this as it doesn't seem to be listed on hotels.com....

"Nice propertyt, near the town supermarket. This is a must during one stays, specially when most restaurants close after the summer season. It is also very close to the lake side if you come to Abisko to catch a glimpse of the Nortern lights where you can just walk over and have one of the best viewing area. "The location is great. The hotel was quite old and rooms really small and not in great shape. We booked a room for 2 adults + 2 kids but it was not possible to fit beds for all. I do not know if this is a problem of the hotel or Expedia but such a small room should not be bookable for families. Breakfast was good, views are great. it was possible to rent a jacuzzi but otherwise there were no amenities. I would say that this is not a great fit for families. The staff was friendly."
