"An amazing property, we were very well looked after from start to finish. Food and service was great, staff helped cooking traditional Japanese meals in buffet restaurant. We had previous poor reviews, but we certainly could not find fault in any part of our stay. We would return without hesitation."

"This is a lovely quiet hotel/ryokan. Beautiful large room with everything set up for onsen the Japanese bath, which was also delightful. The staff was very very sweet and helpful. We didn’t eat at the hotel; there are wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is a few hundred meters from the tourist area which is very quiet after 5 pm. Great place. "

"This place caught us by surprise. Located in a very rural area. Transpiration and dining was very limited, so we cut short our stay. The staff was average at best. I would not recommend this place"

"Tasty food paired with good views and a short ferry ride from Hiroshima. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. They had many amenities and a nice, calm atmosphere perfect for relaxation and a soak in their Onsen. They offered a complimentary ride to and from the ferry, and made sure I made it to the port on time. (Otherwise a 10 minute walk) would recommend to a friend. "

"Lovely stay - as a first time visitor to Japan, it was great to have a night at some more traditional lodging. Iwaso was beautiful and the service excellent. The fixtures in the private bathroom in my room were somewhat dated but everything was very clean, and I really used the Onsen anyway - also, the historic/classic styling of the property was what I wanted. I didn’t find the futons particularly comfortable, but am used to western beds. But what I really felt like I was paying for here was...

"Amazing hotel. I stayed in a traditional Japanese style room with tatami mats and futons to lay out for bedding. The room had a forest view overlooking some beautiful trees and I even spotted a baboon coming out of the forest one morning while relaxing. Traditional dinner and breakfast is included. Dinner was several courses of delicious Japanese delicacies. Sushi, hot pot, too much to list. Breakfast was no less. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful with everything I needed. I believe they offer a shuttle service back to the ferry as I was offered one when I checked in. The next morning when checking out there was no mention of it, but I was pleased to enjoy the short walk back through the shopping areas and seeing the torii gate again anyway. I wound up spending the entire next day on the island climbing Mount Misen so skipping the shuttle was a blessing in disguise. I definitely recommend this hotel"
