"This little hotel (Petit Resort Native Sea Amami) is a real gem. A small number of rooms, superb location overlooking the bay with access to a lovely beach. Good food, friendly, helpful staff. Idyllic."

"The hotel was very ‘weathered’ and definitely requires a bit of love. However, this made it feel very comfortable and something I got used to quickly. In a sense, the negative points became the positives! The staff were polite and helpful, the room was fine and breakfast did the job! Evening restaurants were REALLY good, but check opening times! Great sightseeing points nearby in both good weather and bad. All in all, a very enjoyable few days! Thank you!"

"The staff was really, REALLY NICE and made our stay here quite memorable. This is an older (not a luxury) property, so consider that, but it includes some nice amenities: airport transport, pool, bicycles, proximity to dive shop and water. The breakfast buffet was yummy and generous, accommodating both Asian and Western tastes, and served in an airy space. Again, thanks to the staff for making it so pleasant! "

"The hotel was very ‘weathered’ and definitely requires a bit of love. However, this made it feel very comfortable and something I got used to quickly. "Great hotel, is clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, even though our Japanese wasn’t great, their breakfast is great and overall is a great place to stay in Amami. You will definitely need to rent a car where ever you stay in Amami because it makes everything a lot easier to get around the Island. Thank you to all the staff at the Hotel Caretta, we loved Amami and we felt very welcomed."
