"It was as if taking a step back in time. Drifting off to sleep in a dark room with the snow falling through the positioned sliding windows as to not see any of the surrounding modern day buildings, was a marvellous experience that I shall treasure forever. "Location - there is a pick up service from jr nakuro onsen station. You need to notify the hotel in advance for the pick up service. Staff- they are very nice. I got off at the wrong jr station. "We stayed here for a week while visiting our daughter who lived nearby. The staff were friendly, and polite. No problem with communication even though I do not speak Japanese. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet. The view of the mountains from the room can't be beat. I agree with one review that said the toilet in the reception is the best toilet I have been to in Japan, as crazy as that may sound. Highly recommend!"
