5/5 Excellent
Best spot in Kakamega for international travel
"We had an incredible time at Golf Hotel! The staff were very friendly and the prices were affordable. The Kenyan hospitality shined through during our time here. In particular, we enjoyed the service of one of the employees, Shadrack. We will certainly be back here during our next stay in Kakamega! Safe, secure, and comfortable!"

2/5 Poor
"The lady at reception was the only bright spot. She was exceptionally kind and attentive to al our needs. The hotel is dilapidated, dinghy, and depressing. Often there was no water, the hot water was unreliable and intermittent and the nights were filled with constant packs of dogs howling and barking. The hotel is in a very bad area. Big trucks, metal scrap recycling and truck repair happening nearby, with choking dust and smoke.
The layout of the hotel is bizarre and we felt like mice in a maze trying to find our way around the dim hallways and stairs.
The breakfast included was okay but the restaurant room was drab and depressing.
The bed was comfortable and huge which was a nice touch. The bizarre bathroom however, which was tiny with the toilet set in the middle of the room was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen.
But thank you to that very kind and helpful lady at reception.
By the way, why is the reception area and the waitress station in the restaurant both inside cages. Really weird! "
