A Timeless Retreat in the Heart of Jackson.
I’ve been coming to the Eagle Mountain House for 30 years. My first visit was for my cousin’s wedding, and I remember being struck by the grandeur of this expansive, historic wooden hotel—and of course, the stunning mountain views that are just as breathtaking today.
I keep coming back because Jackson is such a quaint and charming town, and the Eagle Mountain House never loses its magic. Sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, taking in the view, I often glance at the railings and admire the craftsmanship and strength of this old-fashioned structure. You can feel the history in every detail—decades of guests who’ve made memories here.
Inside, the hotel has seen some thoughtful updates, but I’m glad the original wood floors still creak in places. It’s not ultra-modern or luxurious, but it’s wonderful in its own, nostalgic way. The staff are friendly, local folks who genuinely seem to care about doing a good job.
If you’re looking to be charmed by Jackson, New Hampshire, I highly recommend giving the Eagle Mountain House a try. It’s a place that stays with you.
