Very helpful and friendly staff all around. Rooms are always clean. Facilities are very new or recently updated. But the real highlight is the location. 5 minutes walk from everything: the grand Bazaar, the spice Bazzar, the blue mosque, Aya Sophia, Basilica, etc. Tram station 2 minutes away which can take you all over Istanbul. I’m definitely going back to the same hotel for my next visit to Istanbul.

The hotel's location is amazing. Short walking distance from all major tourist attractions. The breakfast buffet is superb, everything is delicious! Plus, everyone in the staff will always make you feel welcome, and will go out of their way to help you with anything you might need, and make sure you love and enjoy your stay! Highly recommend!

We stayed at Carina Gold Hotel. We had 2 rooms for 8 people. Room 109 & 309 We were greeted by reception staff with the most welcoming smiles. Halil was so funny and gave us so much information about how we could spend our time in Istanbul. Staff took us to our rooms and signed us into hotel WI-FI, which was a nice touch. In the morning, Halil was kind enough to give us a IstanbulKart to use during our stay. One card could be used for 8 of us. This was very much appreciated by us all. Breakfast was lovely with a nice variety of items, if you would like omelette, you just need to ask staff who will happily provide this. The hotel was very clean and room cleaning was done everyday, staff smiling always. Location of hotel is perfect, near Tram line T1 (Cemberlitas) 2 min walk. 5 min walk to Grand Bazaar 5 min walk to Blue mosque and Hagia Sofia Mosque Fast food restaurant, good for kids. On our last day, we were able to keep 1 room with late check out 8pm at a small fee. On our last day, our taxi was running late. Enis Atis came up to me and requested I call taxi firm and he would speak in Turkish and ensured there was no language barriers. This helped ease my anxiety. He then helped our group of 8 to get all luggages onto the taxi. Carina staff went above and beyond, we are so grateful to everyone at this amazing hotel. InshaAllah we will soon be back.

Excellent area. Very close to everything, walking distance to all the major attractions. I found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable. When researching hotels for my visit, I narrowed it down to 4 hotels in approximately the same area. I am VERY glad I chose this one as the others did not match the description in person. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the property and the location. The property is spotless, rooms are a good size, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant was excellent. The included breakfast was a great start to the day with enough choices. We had dinner there one evening and it was great too. The location is the best! It’s walking distance to the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, Taksim Square, etc., as well as shops and restaurants. This was our second time in Istanbul. We were in Istanbul in May on a free stopover with Turkish Airlines and stayed at a large chain hotel that was not close to anything. This time Turkish Airlines’ free stopover hotel wasn’t available and I am so glad it wasn’t because we found this gem of a hotel. We stopped over for two days and I would rather pay to stay here than get a free hotel that requires a taxi ride to get to anything. The only downside is that our room faced the street and we heard street noise - trucks going down the street at night. However, this would not stop me from staying here again. I would just bring earplugs. If we’re in Istanbul again, this is where we would stay.

Exceptional stay at Carina Gold. Modern, clean quiet and perfectly central. Reception desk staff Enes, Halil, Salih and not to forget Ece in the restaurant were all very helpful and pleasant. The private tour guide Aydin that Salih recommended was excellent, we had a walking tour, and since everything is within walking distance we covered almost everything in 8 hours, furthermore we skipped all the lines. The Carina Gold Hotel is a treasure; what a wonderful experience we had while staying there for five nights. Excellent is an understatement; superb, exceptional, beyond expectation is a better description. Everything was wonderful; the upgrade to a deluxe room, the breakfast buffet with lots of variety, the hotel itself, so new and modern, located nicely in the heart of Istanbul, within walking distance to all the most important and interesting places. But the best is still to come: what we value above anything else are the persons working in the hotel. Of course, all the staff at the Carina Gold Hotel are friendly, welcoming and helpful. However, three gentlemen we had the most contact with, we even know by their names. Enes, who checked us in, and Halil, also working at the Reception, who explained to us the best way to get around in this beautiful city. One person at the Carina Gold Hotel definitely deserves a gold medal, so to speak, and this gentleman is Mr. Salih Nasan, the Front Office Manager. Salih for sure is the best of the best; highly intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced, efficient, and, naturally, very friendly and helpful. For everything Salih has done for us we are grateful, all his help is very much appreciated. For anyone interested in travelling to Istanbul, we would like to recommend to book a room at the Carina Gold Hotel; and we too, no doubt about that, will return to this lovely place, to once again get treated so well. I booked this hotel for a week. In the morning when we were supposed to fly to Istanbul, my husband all over sudden got so ill. He vomited many times and couldn’t stand still. Around that time, we were already at the airport. BA had to pull off our luggage from the flight. Later, the doctor issued ‘not fit to fly’ note and requested my husband to isolate himself for 3 days. My husband was diagnosed with gastroenteritis which is an infectious disease. I contacted BA and the Carina hotel on the same day. BA didn’t give me any hard time and rescheduled our flights free of charge. I contacted the Carina hotel and explained my husband’s condition and specifically told the hotel front office manager that if my husband got on the flight, he could make other passengers sick. I asked the hotel manager if she could give us a year to reschedule and she refused. We have travelled over 70 countries and we know for a fact that under this circumstance, hotels usually give guests a year to reschedule. No, not this hotel. The hotel manager just simply told me to speak to Expedia. I contacted Expedia, Expedia agents agreed that under this circumstance, We should be able to get full refund or at least reschedule. Expedia agents contacted the hotel many times on our behalf, the hotel is being evasive and not responding to expedia's emails and phone calls. Expedia agents told me that they put "unreachable" in this hotel's file after numerous attempts to contact this hotel.
