Wonderful service & food. Multi course traditional dinner & breakfast. Our waitress/maid for our stay, Ota-San was fantastic. Access to private onsens as a couple was nice. They also provided yukayas for us to wear on property. Amazing ryokan experience!
A throwback to the traditional ryokan experience with 30 dish dinner served in room. Very welcoming and only complaint is our old bodies getting up off the floor from sitting or sleeping which is of course part of the experience. Our problem, not theirs. Ofuro (bath) is gender segregated of course but also has two smaller "family baths" which are quite delightful for those a bit more shy. The local attraction, Meito Iwa is not viewable from Ryokan but less than 100 yards away. Oishiya is a perfect place to splurge a bit and experience Japanese hospitality at its finest. A must stay!
This is a great place for a classic riokan (traditional Japanese resort) experience with half board (breakfast + dinner). You will have to remove your shoes as you enter the lobby,
The room is very traditional (tatami mats) but the facilities (bathroom, shower, spa) are modern.
The staff tries tirelessly to help make your stay comfortable.
Non-Japanese speakers should be patient as staff is not fluent in English but makes every effort to make the stay enjoyable.
This is a full kaiseki experience. Meals are elaborate and delicious. All dishes based on local Mie prefecture ingredients, locally sourced.
I went to Meotoiwa near the hotel. Meotoiw is 2 taconite. Two taconite is tied with a sacred straw rope. The bath is big and pleasant made of hinoki. Ise wan see was seen a window. Dinner was Japanese food and pike eel was very good.
