We had a great stay here. Riverside building with sauna room and balcony. Very cold in winter while stay at balcony but luckily we saw aurora in midlight . Room is clean and shower is very hot.Bed too soft for us. Great breakfast, very kind staff. Near supermarket. 15EURO for airport transfer &10EURO for bus station transfer. The aurora hunting tour through the hotel especially was awesome and unforgettable.The guide suggested we changed to another day as bad weather without any additional charges.We had amazing night with the guide and beautiful aurora.

We stayed here overnight before a flight home. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, restaurant and bar were fabulous! Very walkable to shops and other restaurants. Only not great thing was we had to pull/carry our luggage in the snow across two streets to our building. In case this might be an issue for you just be aware when booking.

We really enjoyed this hotel- highly recommend getting a room with your own sauna!! It was lovely to spend time outside in the cold and come back to a warm sauna experience. Room was spacious, great balcony and very comfortable! The staff was always helpful and friendly and the restaurant onsite was really good and convenient for sure! The hotel also had tours available (our guide Sonya was great!) and that was super convenient as well.

The hotel is located opposite to a big supermarket and the supermarket is opened from 7 to 22. The breakfast is fine with refill regularly to keep the food hot and fresh.

We loved this property. We stayed for two nights as part of a 10 day trip through Finland. The hotel is perfectly situated for walking 100 metres to the office of Ivalo Safari, who have amazing experiences. We did an aurora borealis trip on a snow mobile and husky dog sled ride. I will be reviewing these separately. The hotel breakfast was really good, with lots of choices and a nice homely restaurant setting. The evening meals were good too. Some reviews i read prior to our trip said that the newly refurb rooms were better, as they were away from the road. Honestly, we stayed in a ground floor room in the older part and the room was very good. Nicely appointed, very clean and no noise at all from the road. Easy access to supermarket and taxi rank too. The best thing in the hotel was the sauna. It has sessions each day for general hotel guest access, but can be booked for an hour privately free of charge. The staff were helpful and friendly...my only suggested improvement would be a few more lounge chairs in reception and a second chair in the room to sit on. These did not impact is at all...just being picky! Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is an excellent place to stay as a couple or solo traveler. The staff are incredibly helpful and responsive. The guides are amazing. I really enjoyed the aurora hunt by car. The food at the restaurant was delicious. My room with the private sauna was perfect. There is no one that I saw to help with the luggage. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have kids. It would be sort of boring. But I loved it

We stayed here two separate nights, on our way up to and back from Northern Finland. The staff is exceptionally helpful. We had a very early arrival one day, and they were nice enough to have our room ready for us at 10:00. A.m.! Of course, they cannot guarantee this for everyone. The rooms are small by American standards, Pat, if you don't have to unpack a huge amount of luggage, we had plenty of room for two adults with two big suitcases and two carry-ons. If you are in the main building in an odd-numbered room, you will be facing the supermarket across the street, which keeps its lights on until fairly late at night. It didn't bother us, and we slept like locks. But if you need an absolutely dark room, try to get a room that is even numbered in the main building, or in the second building that is just to the north of the main building. Breakfast and lunch buffets were both quite good. We saw lots of locals there. Not the best meals we had in Finland, but we did enjoy them. Behind the second building, which is to the north of the main building, is the river. There is a gravel Trail that leads down to a small Pier. This is a gorgeous spot for photos. It's also pretty dark at night, so you might catch the Northern lights there. Finally, although the hotel is at the Northern end of town, it is across the street from one grocery store and a 5-minute walk from another. You are right on the main drag, and can walk to a few restaurants and shops.
