White-sand Fuzeta Beach seems to extend for miles and miles. Wander in either direction away from the beach bars to discover vast swaths of deserted sand, unspoiled by development and typically uncrowded. Revel in the away-from-it-all feeling while soaking up the sun.
Step off the boat at the dock by the beach and pick up water and any food supplies from the beach bars there. If comfort and shade are important to you, consider renting a lounger and an umbrella to block out the sun. This part of the beach also has a children’s play area where little ones can burn off excess energy.
Sunbathers seeking some privacy can stroll in either direction from the dock in search of a quiet space of their own. Because of the beach’s expansive sweep of sand, it rarely feels overcrowded, even during high season.
When you find a suitable spot, spread out your towel and stretch out on the sand. Spend the day reading a book, watching the waves crash in and paddling in the sea to cool off in between bouts of sunbathing. Nude bathing is permitted in the quieter parts of the beach.
For a more active beach day, inquire at the watersports operator near the dock about available activities. Rent stand-up paddleboards or canoes, or try wind-powered watersports such as kitesurfing or windsurfing.
If you have children with you, have them scour the fine, bright sands for unusual shells. At low tide, a natural swimming pool forms at the eastern end of the beach.
Find Fuzeta Beach on the eastern side of Ilha de Armona, just across the lagoon from the town of Fuzeta. Small ferries depart from the town’s dock and take just a few minutes to reach the beach. Ferries depart at regular intervals during summer, and also run during winter but less frequently so check the latest schedule before setting out.
