"Charming little place in the middle of nowhere, which I loved. Incredible quiet except for the roaring river and waterfalls the hotel overlooks. The breakfast was excellent and offered lots of options, and the dinner I had one night was delicious. A great choice!"

"Friendly staff. Breakfast was very good with plenty of continental options. Room was comfortable although not great for tall people due to the sloped ceiling. Nice hot tub and good location to see the northern lights. "

"Restaurant staff was abysmal. Restaurant was nearly empty, there were 3 waitstaff. We had to ask for our drinks AFTER the food had arrived. It still took nearly 10 minutes to receive our drinks. And we could see the staff standing around talking!"

"Great place, far away from everything, so buy from a store what you want because no grocery store in radius of 50-60 km. Because it is distant from lights we managed to see the Northern lights for the first time there :)"

"This has to be one of the most unique stays in Iceland. If you’re considering booking it, you absolutely should. The view is incredible - you can see Icelandic horses, a mountain, and hot springs all from the top floor. The owner is very kind and accommodating, even offered to show us around the stables. "Beautiful hotel- the lobby/design is full of character and history. Room was clean and tastefully designed. Breakfast was plentiful and lovely. Though I didnt try it, the hotel also has a bar to enjoy. Great locatoon for exploring the main town. 15 mins walk from the marina, 15 mins walk from the iconic church and ‘rainbow road’. "

"Very nice and comfortable lobby. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception, when we asked then to show us the directions to certain places we had to go, they were very helpful and were willing to show us from the map. We were given a room with a harbour view which was absolutely stunning. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room so I didn't mind the room was small, in fact I think it was a decent size unless you plan to spend more time in your room. The only one thing I would pick on is the shower room. The shower shelter doesn't do anything at all, the floor was all wet after the shower. We had to dry the floor with the towel afterwards otherwise it would be a bit uncomfortable to enter the shower room/ toilet again afterwards. We visited the Sky Bar on the 8th floor on our last night, we sat next to the window with a stunning view that we could see the harbour and the concert hall. Staff at the bar are very friendly. The location of this hotel is great too, we had a few activities which required us to meet up at the bus stop 5 (Harpa) which is just cross the road from the hotel, very convenient. Also, great distance from the city centre so not a problem at all walking between the hotel and the city centre. Our overall experience staying at this hotel was excellent."
