"Lovely little property located in a quaint village:) Staff members were super friendly on arrival and the whole check in/out process was smooth. The property has a lot of charm but needs a little tlc. The bathroom is basic and shower not great but the rest of the facilities in the room were good. The bed was a little on the hard side and very squeaky. Overall a good stay and for what we paid we were happy :) thank you x"

"We had a lovely stay at Lockton Cottage, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The welcome goodies were a great touch, and we really appreciated the tea, milk etc..after our long journey. We would definitely stay again."

"Our stay here was fantastic. The cottage was clean, spacious, clean, and well equipped. The staff was very attentive, beginning with precise directions to get there and continuing throughout our stay. The hot tub was great and we had a couple clear nights for star gazing. We highly recommended Middlehead Cottages!!"

"Bramwood cottages are beautiful and located in a fantastic central location, close to everything in the town which we loved. We did book the Tack Room cottage, but on arrival we had been moved to the Coach House without any explanation resulting in us trying to access the Tack Room with the entry code we were given when someone else was staying there, which was quite embarrassing. The cottage itself was beautiful, and had everything you could possibly need, but we found comfort to be lacking....

"We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "We stayed in Buttercup cottage. We were greeted by our host Rachel and made to feel very welcome. The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we could need. The bedrooms were upstairs, a twin room which looked out over the countryside and also had velux windows for star gazing and the double room with velux windows. Downstairs was very spacious with a comfortable lounge, lovely dining room with a big table to eat round and take in the views, great kitchen with everything you need and so...

"Booked a week in December and our adult daughter joined us. The cottage was well equiped for us, very cosy & warm, comfortable beds, curtains & blinds at the bedroom windows. Large TV & DVD player. Powerful shower over the bath. There is a patio with furniture, if the weather is kind. A long drive leads to private parking. It is quite isolated, but peaceful and tranquil with lovely views. In the lounge are 2 x 2 seater settees, which would be quite 'snug' if there were 4 adults."

"Overall the property was nice Although It really needs some attention The toilet seat does slip, there always feels to be holes in the floor boards the bathroom and stairs There’s a weird lip walking into the dining room/kitchen which we nearly tripped over a good few times The fridge was very bipolar where it either didn’t keep things cool or froze them Also the temperature gauge for the heating kept falling off exposing live cables which could have electrocuted if touched as it was...

"Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for. "

"Good location but property not as described. Hot water runs for 10 seconds; can’t take a bath. Windows permanently condensated and mouldy - curtains also with mould. Carpet dirty - needs replacing!"

"The first time we have stayed here, the cottage was so lovely, warm homely and clean. We only had to walk around the corner to The Blue Bell Inn and had a wonderful meal. The village is a hidden gem, we chatted to some of the people in the village and they were so friendly. They had a Street Fayre today, which is what they do every year on the second Sunday of June, unfortunately we had commitments, we had to leave early, however we do plan to book the cottage for next year and stay longer. "Literally 5 mins away from the retail park (shops and food) but you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere! Really clear and easy to follow instructions to self-check in meant I could arrive at 22:00 and not feel worried! Definitely will be staying again!"

"Very few properties are perfect and this property had a few issues, but these pale in comparison to the convenience, location, professionalism, and cleanliness. The staff more were truly amazing and they themselves deserve five stars. They were accommodating, considerate, professional, efficient, kind, and truly represented the very best of York. I would be inclined to make these apartments my go to place for any future visits to York."
