"Beautiful villa and pool. We loved our stay but the communication with front desk was terrible. Getting fresh water was a bit annoying and trying to work out any issue with the front desk is impossible as they do not respond to emails and simply do not call you back. Communication was non existent and front desk is a 10 minute drive away. This needs to change on their part. They say its walking distance to the beach, realistically it is not. "This place was probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed at. Only issue I had was the Expedia directions sent me to another beach about half hour away where I actually wanted to stay. Only reason I didn't give an overall 5 star rating. But they have a great pool and rooms were great. If I get back there someday I will probably stay there as now I know the exact directions there."

"sylvia was so accommodating and provided us with very helpful tips for our stay. before arriving she helped recommend and book multiple excursions and tours for us. and anytime we had questions while we were there she answered on whatsapp or in person very quickly. she’s very kind and el jardin is a lovely quiet and safe little place "

"We stayed 3 nights at Umami in Puerto Viejo. The hotel is lovely, quiet and set back from the main road through the town but still only a 5min stroll to the seafront. Room itself was clean and modern with AC. Breakfast was typical Costa Rican and served by the pool each morning which was great. Free parking right outside. I’d certainly return to the hotel and only have good things to say about our time there. One advice I’d give is to avoid the sister hotel’s restaurant (Num at Namu) - it’s...

No Glass Shower

"The hotel grounds ,the staff, the location and the breakfast was all great. We had a premium room. The shower is the problem. There is no glass around it, so by the time you finish there is a flood on the bathroom floor, Now you get to stand in water and brush your teeth ,shave ext. then you track water around the rest of the room. I wish the owners would try taking a shower in this room and see how they like it."

"Friendly and helpful staff. Centrally located. Easy walk to all of the local restaurants, beaches and attractions. The grounds of the hotel and rooms were beautiful and incorporated the natural beauty of the area. I highly recommend and would stay here again. "

5 star service and accommodations

"We had great time! The resort was one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed, with a beach view right outside our room. The staff was incredibly friendly and overly helpful. My friend got sick one of the days and they went above and beyond to help her feel better, constantly offering things to help and checking up on her every hour or so. Everyone was helpful and over-the-top accommodating. They would run and find us to show us any wildlife they happen to spot in the area. We had Christian serving us on the beach and he was phenomenal. Gave us so many recommendations for the area, and followed up by having the front desk send us the info via text. He also delivered some things directly to our room, which he didn't have to do. "
