Great hotel. Challenging check in

No issues with staff but check in is in different location. After finding arriving at hotel and then finding that out then turning around to find it, with two little children in tow, and not knowing area or parking rules, and parking sign in location being damaged, I found myself with a $40 parking ticket. Accom and location and parking was outstanding.

Be aware check in other building 700 metres away

Was ok however check in at another Somerset property at pier and not informed until standing at front door trying to get in! View of side of warehouse, definitely can't see water

Choice stay in Hobart

Location is superb Service is excellent, especially the Housekeepig Nathan from housekeeping has good friendly disposition - would have done a better job in the reception.

Front desk service people weren't very nice. Hotel was pretty outdated, my shower door was missing a handle. In such a good location it's hard to complain.

Near luxury in the heart of History

Very comfortable, spacious and well appointed apartment. Safe parking outside. Easy walking to Hobart wharf areas and restaurants. Salamanca Market on your doorstep. Check in procedures need to be more clearly defined, needing to go to reception at a sister establishment on the other side of the docks. Otherwise, a pleasant two night stay.

Great location at Salamanca. Spacious and clean room. Hotel parking is not the best and it's a bit of a nuisance to have to check in at another location, even though it's close.

A Great Break In Hobart.

Fantastic Location

I will begin this review with a very critical tip for anyone staying at this Hotel. Check-in for Somerset on Salamanca is at the Sister Hotel (Somerset on Pier - Approx. 10 min walk). We weren't informed of this upon booking this hotel through an online booking website. If you don't have a hire car, this is no issue as there is a complimentary shuttle bus in-between the two hotels. Overall, this hotel is extremely spacious, clean and very central to the Salamanca Markets (which is particularly convenient during the Taste of Tasmania festival). The rooms definitely are in need of a refurbishment sometime in the near future. Another piece of advice, parking is somewhat limited at this hotel. If you have a room, it is not guaranteed that you will have a parking space. However, during our 3 day stay, there was luckily always one space free.

Bed extremely uncomfortable. There was a loud buzzing noise that happened every 16 minutes and the drainage in the bathroom was terrible. Room was clean and balcony was lovely. Staff very friendly.

Great choice for exploring Hobart. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which has 2 bedrooms as well, so great for 2 couples sharing.

Very impressed with the size of the room and facilities. It was excellent value. Only negatives were the wifi code did not work and check in is at another property. However there was an intercom to talk with reception and they came around to check us in. I would stay here again.

Walking distance to Ball and Chain restaurant...

Wonderful position to access Salamanca and all the restaurants in walking distance. The Ball and Chain restaurant which is just amazing, was just a few steps away.... I don't think there is a better steak anywhere...It was busy and packed by 8.00 pm on a Monday night... Say no more... The accomodation was comfortable, warm with microwave, plates etc.. We would definitely stay there again.. We did get a special deal that was available through hotels.com that made it very reasonable..

Great location

We had prepaid and were charged again on arrival at a cheaper rate. This extra charge was noticed at night audit and we were informed we would be refunded the amount charged upon arrival. Room is a great location. Could hear the rubbish bins being emptied early in the morning. We were in the disabled access room which created a wet and wild bathroom after a shower.
