"it is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. The location is a little out-of-the-way so you will have to use an Uber or taxi to get to most of the sites. The train to Nara is about an 11 minute walk from the hotel. I took a taxi to the Gion one day, but walk back to the hotel after strolling through the Gion area and Potocho Alley (not sure the spelling of that) and it took me a half hour to get back to the hotel. "The front desk staff was amazing at this apartment style hotel. I wasn't expecting first class service but we definitely got it! They provided us a dinner recommendation, booked the taxi and booked the table. It was one of the best dinners we had in Japan and was in Pontocho Alley, which is a pretty popular area! "The location was great, easy 5 min walk to subway and bus. Only 15 mins to market and shopping. The room was comfortable and a good size for Japanese standards. It is nice to have a kitchenette and there was free water. We only received 1 towel each and had to ask for extra towels which was not a problem. I asked for an extra pillow and they did not have any, that is a first and very unfortunate since it made my sleeping less comfortable."
