"This is the first visit to the imperial Torquay but will definitely be going back. The hotel is like it has been plucked out of a poirot movie, grand staircases, Chesterfield sofas, big wingback chairs, beautiful, right up my street. "This is a great getaway hotel. It's just outside Torquay with views out over the bay and around the corner from meadfoot. The hotel has a mini spa which is perfect for unwinding. Proper full breakfast in restaurant with views over the bay."

I didn't like some noisy guests with no consideration for others e.g. late at night loud talking of adults and children and banging doors. May be a notice in all rooms saying please be considerate to others and close doors quietly and not to speak too loudly. A hook needed on back of bathroom door to hang towel."

"Wonderful country house hotel in about 200 acres of stunning grounds. Lots of outdoorsy things to do. The sitting rooms are glorious with open fires and the staff are attentive and there are lots of little touches that make the hotel stand out. The food is excellent, eat in the Great Western Restaurant if you can. Breakfast excellent. "
