We stayed at OTC for 10 nights. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, with no major issues.
Plus points:
- lovely room with a comfortable bed (we stayed in Champagne)
- large ensuite with powerful, hot shower and deep bath, dressing table and a mirror you could use to do hair and makeup (I find this is lacking in most guesthouses and even hotels!)
- Good breakfasts. I liked how they are delivered to your room. I'm not a morning person and like to eat breakfast in my dressing gown!
- Good supplies of tea, coffee, biscuits etc on demand.
- Free parking in the village! This saved us so much money.
- Lovely location, set in a village square with two excellent pubs 30 seconds walk away. Spar shop open until 10pm each evening.
Things we think could have been improved:
- Just one thing, really. We understand concerns around covid, and this may be a little unfair, but it did slightly impact our experience. We stayed 10 nights and our room really could have done with a vacuum halfway through. Eating breakfast and dragging in sand from the beach (we tried to minimise this) meant things were looking and feeling a little grubby towards the end of our stay. We would have loved a change of bedding too. We were offered a change, but we'd have to do it ourselves, which is not what you come on holiday for.
All in all, a pleasant break. Ideal for shorter stays. Would recommend 😊
