No staff onsite. To check-in we were given a phone # to call for lobby and room key code access. No one answered the phone. Local Icelander helped because there was another hotel with same owner in the next town and she called them to help us with access code. Others had the same problem. One couple had to sleep in their car because they couldn’t get their access code via phone instructions either.
There was no staff on hand. Check in was done via phone call and door codes were provided. No breakfast was included although part of the price. I believe this may have been a last minute change due to COVID
We had a end room with a beautiful window view of Snaefells Glacier and it was comfortable and clean. But there are no service folks on site in the evening. So if you have an issue you must call and hope they can resolve it. We didn't have any issues, just be sure you have your codes to enter the front and the room (you'll need one for each).
The breakfast was standard fare of fruit and a few other items, but suited us fine.
Location is great!
Very poor communication, we called them 22 times in 1.5 hour. No one answered the phone, it kept saying user busy. We had to actually change our plan and drive to hotel to make sure we will be able to check in. There were no toiletries in the bathroom. Worst hotel experience of our entire trip.
The lady in charge of receiving us and also in charge of feeding us breakfast had a very bad atitude, she might have a personal issue but breakfast was very very poor like 1 tomato in slices for 6 people. come on. rest was just fine and hotel is clean and good for the price

Disliked: Staff & service
Basic hotel, not so basic prices
Hotel is okay. It is close to the Snaefellsjeoekull national park which made it easy to visit the park. There isn’t any staff in the afternoon so we had to do a self check in. This is fine if nothing goes wrong but on one of our nights there was a gale and the power went out. No phones in the room to notify anyone and the hotel was pitch black. Fortunately we had flashlights and the power came back on sometime later.
There is no service - they changed a towel and that was about it. There is a cold breakfast buffet that was okay. It would have been nice to have more amenities for the price paid.
It is the only self-check-in/out hotel. Instead of having a reception, you make a phone call or receive via email your room number and access codes. Sounds cool, but that means you cannot ask anyone any questions.. But the breakfast is less than satisfactory, compared with other hotels I stayed in Finland. There are only a few visitors during our stay.
I liked the coded entry. We were able to check in a few hours early which was nice. It was our first night in Iceland and we had been awake for over 24 hrs so I didn’t mind not seeing anyone. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. The only negative was because the bathroom is very small with no fans it got very steamy and wet after you showered.
Pretty basic and easy stay. The breakfast staff was a highlight in the morning. Good continental brekkie. Easy check in and all that...just make sure you can access your email for instructions. Beds are overly soft.
