Isaac Hale Park is within walking distance and although the beach isn’t very safe for swimming there is a pond there that you can swim in. "Stylish hotel on a lovely beach which was great for snorkeling and swimming. There's not much within walking distance of the resort though, so a car is a must unless you are happy to stay/eat on site...which is fine if budget allows, but food, drinks and payable facilities were eye-wateringly pricey."

"So as Marriott properties go, this one is spectactular. The beds were comfortable--great bathrooms, FREE washer dryer (so great at the end of the day to dry the bathing suits) and free water bottles and water filling stations everywhere. You also have access to the Mauna Kea (next hotel up the beach) where the food is better (and more expensive) and there's a different beach for a change of scenery. We rarely visit a place twice, but Hapuna Beach is pretty close to perfect. "
