"This was our third stay at Captain Don's, we loved it as much as the first time, in 1998. We were upgraded to the deluxe oceanfront suite, great view, large room. 2 pools at the resort. Staff helped us with car rental options after the place we reserved with had no cars. We enjoy being in the quieter area away from town. "The beginning was rocky. We arrived on a day that was considered a holiday so noone was there. The person that was suppose to be only a phone call away, wasn't. The instructions for how to check in were emailed, the room was set up, and the property were immaculate so that little hiccup was forgotten. The next day, we had to gi introduce ourselves. Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire - All Inclusive

"The resort is going through some construction but we stayed in the completed area and it was very nice. The pool is nice. The cabanas and umbrellas get reserved quickly. Food can be repetitive but it was nice ambiance at the only restaurant. Watch out for the seagulls at breakfast"

"Love that the Divi Flamingo Beach hotel and timeshare studios are very close to the water - footsteps from the ocean. The island's waterfront is a bit rocky and watershoes are recommended. The hotel's restaurants were good, the beach bar is heaven at sunset, the resort is walkable to town. The waters are among the best in the world for snorkeling and diving, and safe with no surf or surge. If you want action, nightlife, gambling, golf, go to Aruba. This island is quiet and relaxing, and so is this hotel. "

"The service and team there was excellent. Their attention towards us was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The property was beautiful. No negative feedback. Only that our kitchen sink had a bad leak and there was a gap between the entry door to our room and the floor. Had to stuff a towel in it to keep mosquitos out. I would definitely recommend staying there. We met many others there who were repeat visitors."

Buddy Dive Resort

"Delightful staff and for a diver, it doesn't get easier or more convenient of an experience. The reef is nice, different than what I expected putting it up against the Red Sea. Different things to see essentially. Red Sea would be more colorful in hard corals and clams while Bonaire has large gorgonians and massive pipe corals where you simply don['t see in Egypt. A very nice 12 day stay. Red Sea would be more of a highly restrictive dive environment. Buddy dive is the polar opposite. Regulation and restriction is at a absolute minimum. Not unsafe, just wonderfully open and free for an AOW diver to simply just come and do his thing. The only negative which almost every hotel falls short on is for longer stays, the beds simply are never comfortable enough. I will return to Buddy Dive when traveling to dive on Bonaire in the future, there is no reason to stay anywhere else. Brock Seals"
