"We went to Exuma searching for quiet, and we found it! The Exuma Palms, despite being right on the Queen's Highway, was very quiet and relaxing. The ocean view was great from even our ground-level room, the room was very clean, and the beds reasonably comfortable.
However, be sure to have a car if you stay here. We had to walk on the edge of the rural highway in the dark for 2/3 of a mile to find the nearest open restaurant.
The Exuma Palms recently changed ownership, and the new owners are working to bring it back, but as of February 2026 there were still a lot of needs. There was a pile of lumber and some work completed, but no work was done during the week we were there. Of the two stairways to the beach, both were difficult for my wife to navigate after her knee surgery last year. Cracked plaster and corroded metal work continued the theme of neglect. The trash dumpster overflowed all week. We never saw the pool cleaned or the deck taken care of; items were left for days until we cleaned them up ourselves. Lounge chairs had broken bolts and were ready to fall apart.
The room included a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, but no coffee nor even cups. I don't know if the water is drinkable, but it was hard to find bottled water outside the restaurant. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, only a window opening to the hall. Our room was never cleaned or our trash taken out.
The restaurant, however, was very nice, and the service there excellent."
