"Best staff EVER!! Tracy the manager is professional, caring, helpful, kind, and made our family trip our best ever. She is warm and made us feel at home and always helped us. "The room was very small yet comfortable. Bathroom was very tight. Very little space to put things. The bed was very soft and cozy. However there was a dead bug squished in The curtains. Cookies and hot chocolate were a nice touch and a wine tasing with great cheese was a special treat. The entrance to the Billings farm was free because we stayed at the Inn. Nice touch."

"This is a revised review. Audrey was extremely accommodating during our entire visit. We had a minor problem with check in but she resolved the issue to our satisfaction. TRL met all of our needs with clean and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast far exceeded expectations with fresh pastry and baked goods. "I booked a three night stay last minute, unfortunately because of flight delays I did not arrive until 6 AM. The staff proactively contacted me around 11 o’clock stating that there would be no one at the front desk but there be a number there for me to call once I arrive to complete the check-in process. "I thought The Shire was great!. Very clean. Friendly staff. Great coffee. Quiet. Walking distance to town. This is a motel like set up. No restaurant but plenty around and a grocery store across the street. Rugs in rooms. I don’t like that but they were very clean. Excellent shampoo, high quality body cream that smelled great! Nice touch! "

"the manager Lea was wonderful and most accommodating . she went above and beyond to be sure we had everything we needed. The inn is very quaint and exceptionally clean. The breakfast could use more choices if it is going to stay continental. Not what you would expect from a Bed and Breakfast! That would be our biggest complaint."

"I didn't realize it was a bed & breakfast when I reserved our room (my mistake), but it was fine. I'm handicapped and had to go up steps in the old home with my luggage (obviously, no elevator). While the room was small and a bit cramped for us, it was nice, quiet, and the beds were comfortable. Again, this is not a knock on the property. It was very quaint. Just my mistake for not realizing exactly what I was booking."

Historic spot well worth the visit

"I love old buildings and history, so this house built in 1796 with nearby giant red barn hit the spot for what I wanted. Very pretty location near the heart of Quechee. There's a nice restaurant with amaxing breakfast included with the room. We'll definitely stay again!"
