"It’s a old ryokan passed it prime time. It’s basically not bad, but is old and run down. Maybe the Covid period made it worse as the condition of the ryokan deteriorated further without upgrades. Service is good. Far away from city center but there’s shuttle bus."

A huge Lawson’s is located just 5 mins walk away, lots of izakayas, yakitori, and ramen shops are just 7-10 mins walk away. Very conveniently located. "We really enjoyed our stay at Tokyu Stay Hakodate Asaichi Akarinoyu! Our room was very cozy and had a view of the ocean which was nice! We chose it because of it's close location to the train station but it was also close to many of the attractions Hakodate has to offer including many good seafood and ramen restaurants. The staff was also very friendly and held our bags for us before we left for the train station. Overall great place to stay! "
