Haa Alifu Atoll Resorts

"Peaceful laid back resort. Amazing fine dining experience with receptive service. Food spread is posh, especially at theme nights. Presentation is very visually appealing. However, the a-la-carte menu is limited and the taste is not up to the level of the presentation. Not a lot of night life or night time activities. That is the main pain point. Everything shuts down by 6pm. There is not even an indoor/night swimming pool open after this time. This resort mostly targets people in their mid-late thirties or higher. Not for younger couples as much. Upon arrival, they insist you download the JA Manafaru app but this app misses critical features such as navigation. A suggested itinerary either by host or in the app would have been super useful but was missing. The water villa was very beautiful and the views were stunning. Mini bar was well stocked and included in the all-inclusive package. The ocean access ladder in water villas need to be better maintained. They were rusty and caused cuts and bruises when we tried getting in and out of the water. It rained for 2-4 hrs everyday during daytime during our stay. That’s when we realized that the resort has very little to do except dine when the weather is unfavorable. Water activities are limited."

"Hondafushi is an amazing island. Very quite and privet, not a lots of people. A lot of places around the island where is no people and it’s just you and the ocean. Be aware the transfer fee will go up after the booking from $120 to $420 for a person. Plus on the day of check out- they will change you extra after 12 pm for the room. For people who likes to be in quite vacation- it’s a great place to be. There only one restaurant - but for the reason the buffet is better than some other hotels. We order there special lobster $150 for 2 people they made special set up of tent next to the ocean definitely was amazing experience! Over all great island! A bit hotter than others Maldives island, but more privet and relaxing. Thank you ! "

"We stayed in hideaway from 22/4/24 till 26/4/24.It’s a little disappointing when you go to a high rating place like this and have the following issues arise: 1.) after all of what happened below, we went to speak to the manager, and he told us to come at 6:30 am before we left to meet with the other manager. However there was no manager on the island at 6:30am 2.) we paid for half board and ended up paying around $7.5 for tap water every time we had a meal when you assume that it’s included for dinner. 3.) left our belongings at the sea activities desk and was told it would be taken care of, after we were done, we came back to find our belongings were taken by other guests. Whilst waiting, they only offered 1 small bottle of water to me and my wife. 4.) rented a jet ski that had mechanical issues. 5.) we wanted an umbrella sun bed, and the worker told us that 4/5 were broken. He then Fixed one with adding a pin that looked as if it was deliberately taken out, and waited as if he was waiting for a tip. 6.) the servers at one of the bars would completely ignore us unless we raised our voices to be heard. 7.) went on a dolphin boat ride and were there were 6 of us. The worker only offered 4 bottles of water. 8.) last day we ordered a low fat latte, and the worker said that they have never had low fat milk after we have been ordering it for 4 days straight. 9.) we were told to get up at 6 am to leave the island at 7 am when our half board package includes breakfast from 7am "
