"The front desk are really helpful. I had problems with communications on my car bookings and Takayama tickets. They were so patient in helping me. If you are a foreign guest , this hotel is great. The rooms are spacious. The soft jazz music in the lounge is lovely. It’s location is great. Lots of good eateries nearby. Check out Cafe Basque for a lovely small restaurant with reasonable good Spanish food with good vibes. Prices are decent. "

"The hotel is comfortable, clean and close the station. 10 minute walk to the town. Our room was spacious and had a safe, microwave, hob, fridge-freezer and a washing machine. There was a separate toilet, and wet room. There is a 7 11 across the road. The hotel has a public onsen that good. Good value for money"

"Stairs. I am 88 and stairs with luggage is a bad combo. The owner has done a very good job in keeping the property clean and comfortable. The location can't be beat but this is not a place for older folks."

"友人数名で泊まらせていただきました！セルフチェックイン、アウトでしたがスムーズにすることができ部屋も快適に過ごすことができました。ただ清潔さに関してはカーテンや窓側がホコリやハエがいたので少し残念でした。ですがゲームやテレビがでかかったのでみんなで遊んだりすることができめちゃくちゃ楽しい旅行になりました！管理人さんには後日落とし物などでご迷惑おかけし大変申し訳ありませんでした。また近場に来た時泊まらせて頂きます！ありがとうございました‼︎"

"To clarify this is NOT a rating for Rainbow Takayama House. We booked Rainbow Takayama and were shifted to another property a few days before we arrived. Reason given was that Rainbow Takayama House was not in a state to be rented due to dirt and odor. The house we were put in instead was not particularly nice, fairly old, and generally not in a great state, so I can only imagine what our originally booked place was like. "

It had the area for the table and chairs, which then became the sleep area for 2 people with the traditional mats and in the other part of the room were 2 twin beds. "We had the room that was considered traditional and western. It had the area for the table and chairs, which then became the sleep area for 2 people with the traditional mats and in the other part of the room were 2 twin beds. Staff was very helpful and helped us arrange the shipping of our luggage. This is next to the train and bus stations so easy to catch transportation. About a 10 minute walk to the older shopping district. Convenient to have a microwave in the room to cook food. A large grocery store was about a 15 minute walk. Being next to the bus and train station did not give great views, but we were booking for the space for 4 adults and the convenience of getting around. This room had a washer/dryer combo, which was a plus because it allowed us to not have to pack as many clothes for the trip."

"Loved this hotel! Room was bigger than expected (Deluxe Hollywood Room) and was very clean. Check-in/out was easy with friendly and professional staff available to assist. Breakfast had a good variety of food. Main attractions were within walking distance (10-20 mins walk). Public transportation nearby (10 mins walk). Wish we stayed longer than one night for greater use of the facilities. Would definitely stay here again. "
