The three nights I spent there, I found the staff to be very cooperative, helping and courteous. Although they were quite limited in English yet they did what they could to help us, which is really appreciable. Breakfast was included in the package and first day they allowed kids to have breakfast with us but remaining days they insisted that kids were not included and I had to buy the coupons for 15.00 Yuans each/breakfast. Overall, I could recommend it to a friend.
Firstly it was advertised that there is a western breakfast at this hotel which was not the case, it was stated that there was a swimming pool which there isn't and staff members were rude and not helpful what so ever, this is a non speaking English hotel. I do not recommend this hotel to any human beings, this hotel only suits the guangzhoe locals.
First arrived at the hotel, difficulties to communicate. Nobody speaks English, and the whole staff stares at you like you have seven heads, sometimes even cracking jokes between them. Very uncomfortable. Finally went up to the room to find that the carpet had not been clean for at least 3 weeks... bigger problem when I tried to ask them to clean the carpet... long story short; they never did. No safe box in the room. Continental breakfast is a over statement, the restaurant offers a list of southern Chinese specialties (rice water, meat and broccoli, very spiced stuff) if you are a western you are going to be hungry. That aside I tried to taste some local flavors at diner one night and again, communication problems.
I bailed out two days before because I just could not stand it.
I spent a wonderful 3 weeks in the Master Hotel. The room was beautiful with a view of Baiyun Shang (white cloud mountain). The reception staff were very friendly and helpful although I do recommend bringing a Chinese dictionary if your not a native speaker. I never came across the pool that was advertised but I was not really looking for it so it may be inside the hotel somewhere. The Master Restaurant is a credit to the hotel and I found the staff were as warm as the food was hot.The hotel is a little off the beaten track but cabs are cheap and there are plenty of things to look at if you prefer to walk.

A hotel which spend all the money on their exterior. The first day, we were settled in lower floor, where normally tour groups stayed in. We were woken by laughs and yell outs at 5.30am by tour groups. Also the interior was completely different from what it showed on photos. Carpet was dirty as well as the wall. The room was rough. The most terrible thing is that air-conditioning was so noisy. Though we turn it off, another air-conditioning just located outside our windows was still noisy. After long discussing with receptionists and manager the next day, they agreed to get us another room which is in higher floor. The second one is much better. It's standard furnished and clean. No more noise from outside nor air-conditioning.
It's a little far away from shopping centre. Though its not a long way to underground, the underground station needs a lot interchange. Yet buses was good.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Good but lacking finishing touch
The soap dispensor was empty, but they did not refill it despite bringing it to their attention, so no soap to use. Had to use the shampoo. Quite noisy with room acoustics & next door guests. They couldn't refund the holding deposit & told me to wait for it to show up on my next credit card statement. Not very smooth systems in place.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Acceptable!!
The most irritating issues in staying at this hotel is that the staff don't understand english. And control the room when you arrive. They try to charge for damage you haven't done.
Otherwise the room was OK and the location and surrounding was acceptable.
The breakfast was after a couple of days too much Chinese.
