We liked everything about Yalo. The bed was comfy, there were extra pillows. The shower was great. There was very good WIFI. We had a penthouse room with a rooftop view that was very nice. The city is very quiet so no loud trucks or sirens all night. Walkability is good to the central attractions and there are many restaurants in the area. We didn't really eat at the hotel restaurant so we can't speak to how it is. In general a very relaxing stay.
Fantastic retro stylish hotel. Very large and well air con rooms. Comfortable and beautiful. Hotel breakfast is excellent and the hotel position is in the very centre of the lovely city. Highly recommend.
Easy to park under hotel, great roof top bar, funky modern super clean retro rooms, loved record player in room, the breakfast though was stunning, so much choice and amazing quality, totally recommend
Beautiful hotel, the room had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is very good, recommend booking though to get an ideal time as it is very popular.
Edge of city centre with own underground parking. I used all the time but no space reservations taken. Would have been more challenging to find alternative parking just off the ferry. Worked out I suspect due to the EUR 32 per day charge putting some off.
Breakfast great. Good location for accessing city attractions walking.
We have stayed in many hotels in Ghent as my husband’s family are based there and this is, by far, the best we’ve stayed out. We loved how quiet the rooms were as I’m a light sleeper. Despite a dj downstairs and a busy nightlife you hear absolutely nothing in the rooms! There’s also a working space downstairs for during the day which is great for a working holiday, something we are now considering. Whilst the rooftop doesn’t have a particularly good aspect, it’s still a lovely spot to have a glass of wine. It’s quiet during the day but very busy in the evenings! We didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on that. We loved the location of the hotel. We know the city well so were able to go and visit all our favourite eateries by foot which was perfect. We will definitely be back as thought it was good value for money given the location right in the heart of the city centre
Hotel is in a zone that you need to register your car with the city to be able to drive in and out.
Hotel is nice with hip vibe not for business.

Dear Gabi, thank you for your stay at Yalo! Great to hear you liked your stay. The entire city centre of Ghent has a low emission zone so for every hotel you need to register your car online. This is free and takes 1 minute of your time. We actually have lots of business guests at the hotel as they appreciate the beautiful and vibrant atmoshpere. A lot of business guests are a bit tired of the boring and grey business hotels and they actually really like our vibrant bar, rooftop and beautiful rooms. I think it's a matter of personal taste. Hopefully we can welcome you again at Yalo!Kind regards,
Great hotel in Ghent with everything that you need for a cycle trip. Parking/good bar with atmosphere and all staff very helpful. Even on phone from London answering questions.👍
Great designer hotel in a fantastic location. Only downside was thr service in the retaurant was slow. Lots of staff but just not attentive. Then we had Lara looking after us who was a Star, and saved the day.

Beautifully designed, but miserable, lazy, unhelpful staff. If you want to stay at a corporate-hipster hotel and don't mind dealing with bad attitudes and poor service, this place is for you.

Dear Richard, we're sorry you feel this way. We know you are angry because there are no pets allowed in the hotel but this was clearly mentioned at the time of booking and on our website. We kindly helped you with finding a solution and searching for alternatives for your dog but you didn't want us to help. That's all fine of course, but it's a pity that you feel the need to express this in the form of a bad review. Every single day, we do our very best to give the best possible service to our guests and help them with any questions they may have, so we feel very disappointed about this. Kind regards, Caroline (Front Office Manager)
We really appreciated the staff when we entered and were so tired after a long day. She was so helpful friendly and treated us wonderfully.
Being our first time here we missed the parking garage, but we were tired and older....Lol
Super cool hotel. Fantastic restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Really comfortable bed. Quiet room. Nice bathroom and products. Great location. Close to major sites. Loved it!
