Gerringong is a relaxed seaside town in New South Wales’ gorgeous Illawarra region. The town sits behind a picturesque coastline that stretches across wide, sandy beaches and pretty headlands. In nearby Gerroa, to the south, visit Seven Mile Beach for more great surf conditions and a wide, sandy foreshore. Lifeguards patrol this beach during summer. From here, explore some of the Coastal Trail that connects Gerringong to Kiama. Try sea fishing at either of these beaches or join a fishing charter trip.
Take a trip to Gerringong’s verdant rural area and find wineries and beautiful hillside views. Crooked River is a lush area with a reserve and a winery. Play golf at one of seven golf courses near to Gerrigong. Explore the beautiful countryside on horseback or by bike.
Gerringong is less than a 2-hour drive from Sydney. Reach the town’s railway station from Sydney via the South Coast Line with a connection in Kiama. Summers are warm and winters are mild in this pretty seaside town. Visit in spring for drier weather and beautiful wildflowers.
