"Customer service was great. I accidentally booked a non-pet friendly room and they upgraded me to a pet friendly room without charging me the extra $20. The room was clean and about what you would expect for the price. If you just need a cheap, safe place to sleep for a night this is a good fit. "

"Warm and homey feel. Staff and even other guests were very pleasant. In a quiet area, conveniently close to the highway."

"Very nice having a little self-contained cottage. Owner came out to make sure I got in okay (late arrival). Only thing that's a potential stumbling block is low availability of bedside power, due to construction age, which I was easily able to deal with. HIGHLY recommended."

"This is a motel on the main drag of Custer. Easy walking to bars and many restaurants. It’s an older hotel and not much to look at on the outside. However the rooms are large and nicely appointed. Comfortable beds, nice towels, indoor pool and hot tub, coffee maker, nice size TV, in room are just some of the amenities. If you can get a good deal on it, it’s a great place. Took one star off as it’s a little pricey. Custer is a great base camp for the southern blackhills."

"Great stay as usual. Our go to spot in Custer. It was a very cold and breezy night, the room heater took some time to warm the room up. Looking forward to our next visit."

"One of the Nicest place I’ve ever stayed. It’s very quite. I would consider a nice place to be. People are super friendly and deadwood is super nice. You should definitely book this room at this Cedarwood inn"

"We only stayed overnight and the lady who checked us in is nice and friendly. This place is only 2 mins walk to the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. "

"Front dest closed at 5:00 so when we got there at 6:00 our keys were hanging on the front door. When we left at 9:00 the next morning the office was still closed. Had kitchenette but everywhere cracking and peeling. Bathroom window was open and wouldn't shut. Coffee pot still had coffee and grounds so didn't use. Ceiling light was burned out. TV rmote didn't work part of the time. Only good parts were front door parking, nice TV, and refrigerator that worked. Beds good."

"Very unique concept. Checked in at the desk. When I inquired about the restaurant, I had a choice between pizza and wings. Not a problem. the gentleman at the desk, now became the waiter and cook. While waiting on food, the same gentlemen then became the bartender! Good food, cold beer, prompt service! The rooms could definitely use repair and updating, but for the price it was fine. It appears to be work in process. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again and hope to see improvements in time."

"Worst motel stay ever. Cheaply built and furnished prefab building we were in was poorly managed, poorly maintained. First room we were given had not been cleaned - trash, dirty dishes, dirty bedding. Second room had no heat on a night when it snowed. Off-site owner was no help - a friend of the owner and her husband tried to help, fixed the heater temporarily, and brought a space heater on the second day. Owner did not respond to text. AND it was expensive."

"This BNB option was quite spacious. There was an accommodating kitchen, a large living room, two large bedrooms, and a fairly large bathroom. The area around Spearfish is quite beautiful. This accommodation is in a quiet residential area. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The accommodation we had was in the second floor of the house. It might be difficult to access for those with mobility limitations. The beds were quite comfortable, and the rooms were clean."
