The level of attentiveness and service from the staff is outstanding and breakfast is fantastic. Beautiful place, the grounds were incredible and the staff was amazing. Skip the dinner at the hotel, and opt for somewhere in town (you can walk 30 minutes along the water to the old town). Also, the sauna is amazing but the steam room and gym make you feel like you went back into a different era…and feel super old.

The standout point of this hotel are the extensive wonderful semi-tropical gardens. The hotel is comprised of various distinct buildings dotted around, giving a feel more of staying in a country estate. The service is second to none, and staff are efficient and attentive. The one downside is the spa and gym. Use of spa/sauna etc is by pre-booking in a short time-slot. So pretty well impossible to take a spontaneous sauna etc after using the onsite gym.

Grounds were lovely. Beds comfortable. Constant hum in room audible.... A/C was off. Small TV on only piece of furniture in the room. We could have used more surface area to spread out. Surprised that small individual toiletries provided rather than larger, easier to use dispensers. Not very environmentally friendly. 1 hand towel was dirty on arrival. We were only staying 2 nights so didn't want room serviced ie less washing etc, so left no service sign on door. This was adhered to. However, on our return after evening meal, housekeeping had been in to do turn down and replenished all towels and empty bins....which we had tried to avoid in the morning. Just seems a waste of energy and resources. I do feel like we were not quite as well looked after/welcomed as others. We were mother/daughter guests.
