I visit family once or twice a year in Freeport IL. Country Inn is perfect. In town. Close to restaurants. Free breakfast. The only reason it’s not perfect is 2x the hot tub was broke. Otherwise works well coming from out of town. Happy with their service, friendly people.

The property is older and has work crews staying in rooms often it seems. Carpets are never clean feeling and overall the property is more expensive than it should be. Supply and demand in that area.

1st room was very dirty. Trash left in bathroom from prior guests, extremely stained and dingy feeling carpets. Smelled. Front desk attendant came up and said "It does even smell THAT bad". Um. It shouldn't smell at all. They moved us to another room but it was like we were being unreasonable. Had stated there before without problems so was very disappointed with this room and staff.
