"The location directly across from Union Station was unbeatable, and the hotel is nicely appointed with kind staff. The closet situation in our spacious room was odd -- only room for three to four hangers -- but everything else was quite good. Breakfast at both the hotel's restaurant (The Dubliner) and at a nearby cafe were more than satisfactory. We would stay there again. It's particularly good if you want to eschew driving on a visit to DC."

"The Royal Sonesta is a chic modern hotel. The location is excellent. It is 1 block away from Union Station, making it accessible to many modes of transportation. The staff is very pleasant from the doorman to the hotel reception. Willie in the front desk was awesome. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable."

"The hotel is beautiful and the staff takes beautiful care of their guests. The complementary coffee that they offer in the morning is very good, which we appreciated. You can easily walk to the mall, the Smithsonian museums, lovely neighborhoods, and good food. The junior suite is lovely. There is room to stretch out. The bed was quite comfortable. "

"Absolutely perfect location; in walking distance to most DC sites and eateries. Staff were GREAT. Sleeping area i.e. bed, pillows, lighting, easy chair, desk, very comfortable. 4 Star. Unfortunately the sink in the bathroom was unusable - the faucet hardly reached over the modern above-counter sink. "This is a very new and funky hotel. The rooms and linens are HEAVILY scented. There is no coffee maker or machine in the room, so you have no option other than purchase their barista coffee or go out (Dunkin' Donuts around the corner). The room is controlled by an ipad that is finnicky at best. The air conditioning controls didn't work very well and the TV controls were delayed. The chromecast simply did not work.
