"We can’t recommend the Hotel Royal more. The service was the best we’ve ever experienced in our 30+ years or traveling—and I’m not overstating that. The people were so friendly, caring, and helpful. The hotel itself was very well appointed. We loved the onsite restaurant and also found that the hotel was perfectly located in the heart of Aarhus bars, restaurants, and shopping. We will be back. "Restaurant next door and opposite. Bus stop right outside the apartment hotel. Safe (you require key code) to enter building. Great communication from the hotel staff via email (before check in), any other communication via sms. It is not the quietest hotel as it is close to bus stop, so during day time you will hear frequent bus noises. Still deserves 5 stars. Will stay again. "

"Room was small and hard to walk around bed as mattress platform stuck out beyond mattress and you could not walk around it without catching your leg or foot on very sharp corners-very bad design. My husband hit it twice and I hit it. Mattress was uncomfortable and pillows had smell. When we got to room cups in bathroom were dirty and lite was out over vanitory. Tub in room was very high which made it unsafe to get in and out for shower. Shower stall would have been so much better. Staff was...

Classic Scandinavian Styled Hotel in a Good Way

"We showed up somewhat late (10pm) after visiting Billund (Lego HQ) first on our Denmark roadtrip. The staff was very helpful in getting our parking sorted... there is street parking and there is also a parking garage at the nearby convention center they have an agreement with. The bed was comfortable even if the room itself was on the smaller side (about 55% of a standard Motel 6 room)... but they made up for it by having a really cool spacious lobby with tons of seating which is open all night if you want to hang out and converse. If you must have a huge room or you have small kids you might feel cramped. The bathroom was clean and modern. The breakfast was phenomenal and included (if done right it could be your lunch too... typical of a large scandinavian breakfast in all the good ways). The area was also walkable... I would definitely stay here again on a visit to Aarhus."
