Unbelievable stench in the bathroom that lingered throughout our entire stay. Room was cold. AC didn't work. Room was dirty.
Property also indicated that I had checked in hours before that happened.
All n all an experience to avoid - especially considering the price.

Better-than-expected
After a harrowing night in the desert this hotel was a bit of relief at least the staff was friendly. The restaurant next door what is decent. Adjacent to the Medina but do not enter unless you know where you're going or have a guide because you WILL be marked and set upon immediately. Parking is just outside for 10 dirhams /$1 per day. Of course I had someone try to hit me up for another 10 the next morning which I refused causing them to freak out and kick my rental car as I drove away.

A fuir!!!
Having been to Fes many times, I've always walked past Hotel Tijani and wondered how it was. With a 2-star rating, I was a bit hesitant but decided to take a chance based on the price and the location (2 minutes to Tijani Zawiya). It was an excellent experience. The manager Bader was very accommodating and reasonable; very nice. The room provided all that was necessary - heat, hot water, towels, good wi-fi, prayer rug, etc - even if it's not the most fancy. The breakfast is a very nice traditional one with coffee, bread, butter, egg, and olives if you request it. They are always ready to prepare a meal for you as well. Highly recommend (if you don't require 5-star amenities but want a good deal).
