"It was good. The PIN code given to us initially was wrong and that was frustrating as we couldn’t get into the room. Thank god it was still working hours so we contacted the staff on telephone after a wait of 10minutes and got a new code immediately. Altogether it was a good place for the price. "

"Stayed in the hotel for a concert at Gilsenkirchen. The hotel’s own gated parking was very convenient, the room was quiet and very comfortable. In particular, staff on reception were very helpful and made our group feel very welcome. Would happily recommend for anyone looking for somewhere to stay within easy reach of Schalke stadium."

"Good location - about 5 mins walk from the station so very convenient. Main issue was lots of groundwork opposite the station so a little inconvenient. I would say the hotel is ok but central Essen was not as good as I had hoped. Hotel was decent enough! "

Many rooms have no air conditioning - you must make a special request for an air-conditioned room, after booking on a third party site. Many rooms are on hallways that have steps to climb from the lift. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant are closed; breakfast is a buffet with many traditional German food choices."
